The Sierpe district, which takes its name from the famous tributary of the Térraba River, is one of the most important starting points towards the most touristic areas of Costa Rica.

The town of the same name, Sierpe, is the main entrance to the incredible Corcovado National Park and the Isla del Caño Biological Reserve; in addition to having one of the largest mangroves in Latin America.

Bahía Drake is a beautiful district in Osa Canton, in Puntarenas province. This region takes its name from the famous English corsair Sir Francis Drake, who is supposed to have landed in this part of the Costa Rican coast.
