About Cahuita
The Cahuita National Park (open to the public) is an incredible place to enjoy the best beaches, tan, rest, snorkel and see animals walking along the trail.
The Park has 23,290 hectares of marine coverage and 1,102 land hectares. In this territory there is a set of ecological systems such as coral reefs, which due to their structure and diversity, are considered the most developed in the Costa Rican Caribbean.
The name Cahuita comes from the terms "Kawe" which means "Sangrillo" (tree of the area) and "Ta" which means "tip", that is to say "Punta Sangrillo".
